5 things Montreal
We went to Montreal to drop our two older kids back off at college, while the younger ones stayed behind in New York. I had never been before, and since we were only there for about 36 hours, I tried to pack in as much as I could — the best of the city in the smallest amount of time.
My top five favorites, in no particular order:
1. Thrift shopping with Anthony.
We didn’t find much in the big thrift stores, but we stumbled into this tiny, run-down little spot that ended up being the best. I found two vintage button-downs, and the owner was so sweet.
2. The beautiful architecture.
There are these beautiful old buildings scattered all around the city — you just turn a corner, and there’s another one!
3. Bota Bota.
Anthony surprised me with this, and I truly had no idea what to expect. It completely exceeded my expectations. The pools were amazing, the sauna was perfect, but my favorite part was the warm relaxation room with the hanging chairs. I curled up with my book and felt so peaceful. And the best part? We had dinner at their waterfront restaurant, still in our robes.
4. Mandy’s.
The cutest salad and sandwich spot — everything was beautiful, delicious, and just so well done. Every detail felt thought out and happy.
5. The bookstore find.
Anthony took me to this sweet American bookstore, and there he found me a book about Jane Birkin!
